Tonight in Turin, Juventus will put on a $2 million show to open their new stadium, the 41,000 capacity $150 million Juventus Arena, as they host Notts County, the historic inspiration for their famous black-and-white striped shirts.
The opening of Juventus Arena – or Juventus Stadium as it seems to be becoming known as – marks the end of an 11 year project, and construction over the past 28 months. Here’s an official video from Juventus on the finishing touches being put on the stadium:
And here’s a trailer for the stadium opening, which will be streamed live worldwide today via Juventus’ YouTube channel:

Here’s Juventus’ new stadium by the numbers:
- 355.000 square metres of total area
- 90.000 square metres of stadium
- 34.000 square meters of commercial areas
- 30.000 square metres of external green areas
- 41.000 seats
- 4.000 parking spaces
- 64 sky boxes
- 275 workstations in the press area
- 2 pitch view studios
- 3 dressing rooms
- 21 cafes
- 8 food courts
- 7,5 distance (m) between the pitch and the first row
- 49 distance (m) between the pitch and the last row
In our previous post on Juventus’ new stadium, one commenter harshly criticized the stadium’s design and did note one design flaw that does not seem to have been fixed: the supporting cables in all four corners that will obscure the view slightly for some fans.
That said, and we will only find out for sure tonight, the compactness of the stadium – this Italian giant not playing in an oversized dinosaur stadium – with a rectangular design meaning those distances from the pitch listed above are consistent all around the stadium could make a huge difference to the atmosphere and sightlines.
Tune-in tonight to see if the stadium lives up to the anticipation!
